Privacy Policy
Effective date: 07/04/2026
App: IDrive ("we", "us")
This policy explains how IDrive collects, uses, and shares information when you use our mobile application (the “App”). By using the App, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. Who we are
The App is provided by REPLACE_WITH_YOUR_NAME_OR_COMPANY. Contact: REPLACE_WITH_CONTACT_EMAIL.
2. Information we collect
- Account information. If you create an account, we process your email address and credentials through our authentication provider (Amazon Cognito / AWS) to register you, sign you in, and secure your account.
- Vehicle and trip data. When you use OBD features, the App reads vehicle data from your adapter (for example, speed, RPM, and engine-related parameters you choose to record). We may store trip recordings, summaries, and related metadata that you sync to our servers.
- Location data. With your permission, we collect precise location data (and, where applicable, background location data) to associate trips with routes and maps. You can revoke location permission in your device settings. Some features may not work without it.
- Bluetooth. The App uses Bluetooth to connect to your OBD-II adapter. We do not access other Bluetooth devices beyond what you connect through the App.
- Device and network. We use network access to sync data with our backend API, authenticate you, and download map tiles. Basic technical information (such as IP address, device type, and OS version) may be processed by our infrastructure providers when you use online features.
- Local data. Some data is stored on your device (for example, cached trips or settings) until you delete the App or clear its data.
3. How we use information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the App (trips, maps, OBD connection, sync, and diagnostics shown in the App).
- To authenticate you and protect accounts and our services.
- To comply with law and respond to lawful requests.
The App does not include third-party advertising or analytics SDKs (such as Firebase Analytics) in this build. Map display may request map tiles from OpenStreetMap-based services when you view maps. Those requests are subject to the tile provider’s policies.
4. How we share information
- Service providers. We use trusted providers to operate the App, including Amazon Web Services (for example, Cognito for sign-in and cloud services for storage and APIs). They process data on our behalf under contractual safeguards.
